Beyond the basics: A full social media toolbox
There’s more to social media than just the obvious networks. Consumers have embraced everything from Flickr to share their photos to Yelp to help them decide where to eat dinner Saturday night.
It might seem like we’re living in the Wild West of social media, but with a little guidance businesses can learn which emerging networks work best for them, and which ones might be better left for another time.
Google+, Pinterest, Yelp, Flickr, StumbleUpon, Tumblr, Reddit, Quora… there are dozens of potential networks just begging for you to stake your claim. Discovering which ones are best for your business is something I can help with.
Emerging networks and your business
Each network offers different tools for social sharing, engaging your customers and fans, and marketing your business.
Pinterest, for instance, is all about sharing photos. So if your business offers something that looks great when captured on camera – say delicious pink cupcakes or before and after shots of a new hairdo – setting up an account might be a good idea.
And Reddit is all about a tight-knit (but millions-strong) community, so if you’re willing to learn its etiquette and get a little messy it can be a great place to get a little online buzz.
